Graplands Wrestling Information
Everything you need to know to join, participate, and understand how stories and matches work in Graplands Wrestling.
Event Schedule
Graplands Wrestling runs a blend of big tentpole events, international specials, and regular Volumes to keep stories moving at a steady pace without burning anyone out.
Big Events
- Anniversario - The yearly celebration event that marks the life and growth of Graplands Wrestling.
- Valhalla - International shows hosted overseas. Designed to feel special and different from regular Volumes.
- Battle of Trios - Single elimination tournament featuring teams of three facing off until one trio stands tall. The event will usually take place over two nights.
Volumes
Between the big events, Graplands runs numbered Volumes. These shows exist to:
- Advance feuds and personal stories.
- Showcase characters in matches that build towards title matches.
- Give structure to title builds and tournament qualification.
Volumes are typically held every 2 weeks. Around major holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, Volumes may shift to every 3 weeks so that talent and handlers can have that week off.
Joining Graplands Wrestling
Joining is deliberately simple so we can focus more time on stories and matches and less on paperwork.
Step One - Follow on X
Follow @Graplands on X so that DMs are open and communication is easy.
Step Two - Send Your Universal Bio
On X, send a DM with your Universal Bio link. This can be a Google Doc, forum thread, pastebin, or whatever format you use for all your efeds.
Ideally, your universal bio already includes:
- Character Name
- Height
- Weight
- Hometown
- Theme Song
- Finisher
- Signature Move or Moves
- Other Moves
- Wrestling Style
- X Username (@)
- Small Biography
If any of those pieces are missing, you can either:
- Send the missing details directly in the DM, or
- Edit your universal bio to add them and resend the link.
No Universal Bio Yet
If you do not have a universal bio, you will be provided with a simple Google Form that covers the same core information so we can build your roster entry. Alternatively you can send this information via a DM.
Set Your Contract
When you join Graplands Wrestling, you choose how many matches you are signing on for. This number becomes your contract length.
Your contract length is used to:
- Help with planning story beats, feuds, and arcs that fit within an agreed number of matches. Contracts can be amended if both sides want to adjust the length.
- Handle inactive characters cleanly. Once a character’s matches remaining hits 3, active handlers will receive a DM about renewing their contract. Characters whose handlers are inactive simply fulfill their remaining matches and then move to inactive status, making space for new active talent.
- Create potential story hooks for renewals when things are going well and both sides want to continue.
You can track your character’s matches remaining on the Graplands roster page.
Participation
Initial Questions
When you join, there will be a small set of questions to answer via DM. These are not about height and weight, but about:
- How you see your character during their time in Graplands.
- What kind of stories you enjoy.
- Any hard limits or things you do not want to see used in angles.
When You Are Booked
When you are booked in a match, you can expect:
- A small and standard questionnaire related to that specific match.
- A tiny bit of match direction structure so you know how to spend your points (see below).
- Time to promote the match on social media, tagging the fed.
Segments
You are welcome to write segments for the show. If you want help with ideas, you can drop a DM to the fed and we can brainstorm something together.
- Segments should be written in present tense and in the third person.
- Segments are not required to prove activity.
- Segments that raise the stakes, escalate a feud, change relationships, or push a storyline forward will earn you an extra point for match direction.
Ask yourself, "How does this change what has happened so far?"
Type of Efed
Graplands Wrestling is best described as an Angled Improv fed.
- There is ongoing back and forth between the fed and the roster.
- Wins and losses happen and matter, but are not the only story beat.
- The match direction system gives handlers a structured way to influence the flow and outcome of matches without needing full roleplays or long strategy essays.
- The fed aims to be collaborative and story driven rather than purely competitive.
See the Match Direction section for how your points influence what happens bell to bell.
Questionnaire
The questionnaire is small on purpose. It exists to get the key beats from you before each match without feeling like homework.
You can expect questions such as:
- Is there any history between you and your opponent(s) outside the efed? If so, what is it?
- Is there a specific non-finishing match spot you’d like to see included? If it has story significance, feel free to mention it.
- What would a win in this particular match mean for your character?
Your answers, combined with your Match Direction points, will guide how the match is written and what the finish looks like.
Match Direction
Each handler has 5 points to spend for each match in a particular order. Your choices are compared against your opponent's choices to build the match and finish with minimal extra input.
This means matches are a product of the handlers and their decisions, then produced and written for the show by the fed.
Point Options
Below are the current options and their costs. More options may be added as the fed grows.
Everyone has the same number of points to spend and the same menu to choose from, which means everyone has the opportunity to win. The difference is how you choose to invest your points for that specific story and opponent.
Championships and Tournaments
Graplands Championship
The Graplands Championship is the headline title. The holder is expected to be:
- The face of the company on shows and on social media.
- Someone who carries themselves like the best of the best.
- A centerpiece for major Volumes, Anniversario, and key feuds.
Battle of Trios
Battle of Trios is a single knockout tournament featuring teams of three competing against one another until one trio wins the entire field. It will be used to:
- Showcase alliances, factions, and odd couple teams.
- Create new rivalries and stacks of story fuel for future Volumes.
The Ascension Classic
The Ascension Classic is the inaugural and then annual singles knockout tournament. Over time:
- It will become a measuring stick for singles excellence.
- The finals of later Ascension Classics are planned to headline future Anniversario events.
More championships and tournaments will be added as the fed grows.
